In this classic “camouflage” print by Bev Doolittle, the trapper has stumbled upon a sacred Native American burial ground. The spirits of the ancestors represented by hidden eagle heads in the birch forest have spooked the horses and the trapper as they run off. If you look closely you can see the 3 distinctive beaks of the eagles in the trees.
